BE A WINNER
YOU ARE A WINNER IN CHRIST – FOR JESUS CHRIST IS THE WINNER MAN
Everybody wants to be a winner! No one wants to lose, no one wants to fail. In the Bible, we read about winners, people who succeeded when others failed.
Joshua and Caleb, for instance, entered the promised land when all the other people above the age of twenty died in the wilderness. Gideon won a great battle with only a small band of 300 men. Jonathan and his armour bearer won a great victory over the enemy, just the two of them.
Sportsmen train to be winners. They spend so many long, hard hours, running, exercising, training to win. They have winners’ thoughts in their minds, not loser’s thoughts. They put their whole self into winning!
Winning is not an accident; it happens because you have prepared for it, planned for it. Here are some simple steps to becoming a winner, and if you follow them, you can be a winner, too.
So let us take each letter of the word winner and see what it has to
W – Work hard, as every winner does. Be willing to spend long, long hours, working hard, even when others are resting. Even when you’re tired, and every bone in your body is weary, don’t fear hard work. Ask any successful person, and he’ll tell you he’s worked hard to get to his place of success. The lazy person will never be a winner, but a loser.
In John 9:4 Jesus said, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is yet day: for night cometh, when no man can work”. Jesus wasn’t afraid of hard work, for he often preached all day, ministered to the people, and even prayed all night. He knew there was only a limited time to work, and He set his priority on doing His Father’s business.
I – Invest wisely – Put all your time, money and talents into the right place.
N – Never doubt – But trust in God to help you win, doubt can rob you of your blessing.
N – Never quit – But keep on going till you reach the finish line, winners never quit. Hallelujah.
E – Expect victory – Prepare for it, for you’re a winner. Jesus the winner man lives inside of you, you are destined for victory.
R – Receive your blessing – For winners are rewarded here on earth and in Heaven. Hallelujah.
Praise the mighty name of Jesus. You can get ready to be a winner in this life by praying this prayer that will change your life and set you on the path to victory

FOR THE PASTORS
“May the earth tremble when you preach. May the forces of sin and darkness flee your path in fear. May you be disturbers of hell as preachers of the Gospel” – thus did Al Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, exhort the graduates.
Mohler cited the Methodist preacher Peter Carwright, who before one of his sermons was told by his deacon that President Andrew Jackson was in the congregation. “I understand that president Andrew Jackson is here”. Mohler quoted Cartwight. “I have been requested to be guarded in my remarks. Andrew Jackson will go to hell if he doesn’t repent”.
Jackson later told Cartwright, “sir, if I had a regiment of men like you, I could whip the world”.
GROWING THROUGH STRUGGLE.
The nominal Christian life that costs nothing is not worthy of the name of Jesus. There must be self-restraint, discipline, severe schooling. There must be struggle, the agonizing effort. If you are to reach the goal and win the prize, you must put every energy of your life in to the race. There must be sacrifice of indolence and self-will personal ease and too much pampering spoils many an earnest Christian.
Every noble life is a struggle from beginning to end. Only those who resist and fight and overcome are successful in life. This is true in every sphere-in business, in study, in professional life, and in spiritual life. Are we resisting sin, overcoming temptation, living victoriously in trial? If not, we are not living worthily.
